How much does it cost to build a log or timber frame home?

The homes we build start at about $350/sq. ft. and go up from there. A true handcrafted log home can be upwards of $750-$800/sq. ft.

How long does it take to build?

9 months and up, depending on many factors. For example, a handcrafted home will need to be built and disassembled off-site, then shipped and reassembled on the build site, which can take weeks, or months. In the meantime, much of the site work can be completed while the package is being built to help shorten the build time.

12 months is about the average time it will take from breaking ground to obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy. We can dial this in to a guaranteed completion date once we have a finalized set of building plans to work with.

Where do you get your logs and timbers from?

We work with several reputable suppliers in the United States and Canada in order to provide the best selections for you.

Do logs settle?

Some do. A fully handcrafted log home will settle and needs to be accounted for. Many of the homes we build do not settle, but we still allow for it around windows and doors, just in case it happens.

Should I contact a log, or timber frame company before finding my builder

You can, we work with them either way. However, if you contact us first, we are an independent builder that will find the best supplier for your needs and desires, instead of trying to sell you on a certain supplier.

Is it harder to finance a log or timber frame build?

Not really, but finding a lender who uses the right appraisers can be a challenge. If you are having difficulty getting the loan value you need, we may be able find other options for you.
